Tickets:  On sale now.  Start at £20.
Location: Â Glasgow’s O2 Academy
Flo Rida, unsurprisingly a native Floridian, is an MC who toured as a teenager with 2 Live Crew’s Fresh Kid Ice, and began popping up on high-profile mixtapes by 2006.
Signed to the Atlantic-distributed Poe Boy that year, he recorded the album “Mail on Sunday”, which was released in March of 2008.  The album, and lead single “Low” (feat. T-Pain), and Flo Rida himself were nominated for a whole host of awards in  2008 including BET’s, MOBO’s, Grammy’s, American Music Awards and Teen Choice Awards.  The win came in 2009 from the People’s Choice Awards: Flo Rida won Favorite Hip Hop Song, with the single “Low”.
A year later, and Flo Rida has returned with the album R.O.O.T.S. (Route of Overcoming the Struggle), which includes the hit single “Right Round” (feat. Ke$ha). Â Since it’s release at the beginning og the year, this new album has reached no. 5 in the UK album chart, and no. 5 in the UK R&B Chart.
Flo Rida’s tour is in support of his latest album, and will feature many of the songs from R.O.O.T.S. Â He is performing just once in Scotland this year, at Glasgow’s O2 Academy, so book your tickets now to avoid missing out!
