Flo Rida, unsurprisingly a native Floridian, is an MC who toured as a teenager with 2 Live Crew’s Fresh Kid Ice, and began popping up on high-profile mixtapes by 2006.

Signed to the Atlantic-distributed Poe Boy that year, he recorded the album “Mail on Sunday”, which was released in March of 2008.  The album, and lead single “Low” (feat. T-Pain), and Flo Rida himself were nominated for a whole host of awards in  2008 including BET’s, MOBO’s, Grammy’s, American Music Awards and Teen Choice Awards.  The win came in 2009 from the People’s Choice Awards: Flo Rida won Favorite Hip Hop Song, with the single “Low”.

A year later, and Flo Rida has returned with the album R.O.O.T.S. (Route of Overcoming the Struggle), which includes the hit single “Right Round” (feat. Ke$ha).  Since it’s release at the beginning og the year, this new album has reached no. 5 in the UK album chart, and no. 5 in the UK R&B Chart.

Flo Rida’s tour is in support of his latest album, and will feature many of the songs from R.O.O.T.S.  He is performing just once in Scotland this year, at Glasgow’s O2 Academy, so book your tickets now to avoid missing out!
