Blue Lake
Location: The Glad Cafe
Blue Lake is the musical project of American multidisciplinary artist and musician Jason Dungan. Coming to Glasgow’s Glad Cafe on the 6th March 2026.
Born in Dallas, Texas, he now resides in Copenhagen on an island, unbeknown to most, named Amager, in the heart of the Danish capital. Dungan’s emergence as a singular artistic voice began with his 2023 album ‘’Sun Arcs” (Tonal Union), which received international critical acclaim. Praised for being a unique sound offering with an inventive free spirit, amongst other accolades, Pitchfork named it ‘Best New Music, 8.3’ and an ‘Album of the Year’, paving the way for the highly lauded mini-album ‘Weft’ (2025, Tonal Union). This followed formative releases ‘Stikling’ (2022, Polychrome), earning a nomination for ‘Album of the Year’ at the Danish Music Awards, ‘The Parrot’ (2019, Kiosk 7) and ‘Moving’ (2020, Polychrome).
The forthcoming new album ‘The Animal’ sees Jason Dungan reveal his most ambitious work yet, as he traverses planes of Ambient and Americana, uniquely infused with his own Nordic aesthetic. His first album to be recorded with a full band, in collaboration with Danish producer Aske Zidore, and mixed by Jeff Zeigler (War on Drugs), The Animal uses the rich sound and collective alchemy of the musicians to evoke the intricate, ever-changing connections between human and animal life, between nature and the city.
Tickets are on sale now for Blue Lake and will cost £15.40 (plus processing fees). The only performance will be on the 6th March 2026. Get your tickets today!
