Weezer are one of the most influential indie rock bands of the last 30 years. Coming to Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 19th May 2027.

Formed in the early 90s in California by Rivers Cuomo, Pat Wilson, Matt Sharp and Jonathan Cropper, the quartet rocketed to fame with their self-titled debut (aka The Blue Album) in 1993. The single ‘Buddy Holly’ became a huge hit, helped on by its Happy Days-referencing, Spike Jonze-directed video.

Following the critically acclaimed Pinkerton, Weezer were launched back up the charts with another self-titled effort, better known as The Green Album and its hit singles ‘Hash Pipe’ and ‘Island In The Sun’.

The band went on to land hits with Frank & Beans, Beverly Hills and All My Favourite Songs, and released four more self-titled albums (colour-themed Red, White, Teal and Black) as well as a Van Halen-themed metal album Van Weezer and the much gentler, orchestral OK Human. Over the years, they’ve famously covered Metallica (‘Enter Sandman’) and Toto (both ‘Rosanna’ and ‘Africa’) and duetted with Kermit The Frog for a Muppets tribute album.

2026 marked a return to critical acclaim with their self-titled album, which Rolling Stone called referred to as “one of the best Weezer albums this century.” After the release of lead singles ‘Shine Again’ and ‘We Might As Well Be Strangers’ featuring Wednesday, third single ‘C.E.O.’ (in which the accompanying music video that starred the likes of Tony Hawk, Curry Barker, Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi and Christopher Mintz-Plasse) was revealed alongside news of their 2027 global tour. Weezer: The Gathering will see Rivers Cuomo and company return to the UK in May 2027, with Taking Back Sunday announced as main support.
