The Boo Radleys are an English alternative rock band who were associated with the shoegazing and Britpop movements in the 1990s. Coming to Glasgow’s Stereo on 8th November 2026.

The Boo Radleys’ journey began in Wallasey in 1988. Early releases established them as vital contributors to the UK indie scene, but it was 93’s Giant Steps, NME’s Album of the Year, that announced them as genuine visionaries, fusing shoegaze with psychedelia, dub reggae, jazz, and Beach Boys-influenced harmonies.

Achieving their commercial peak with 95’s chart-topping Wake Up!, and hit single Wake Up Boo!; at the height of Britpop fever, they remained restless. This ethos fed 96’s C’mon Kids, which “scared away 100,000 fans”, and their 98 swansong Kingsize: sophisticated, electronic-tinged, and commercially underperforming. Reuniting in 2021 as a trio, what could have been a nostalgic retreat instead became a creative rebirth, with Sice, Tim, and Rob adopting democratic songwriting processes and leveraging home recording technology.

Keep On With Falling (22) – “hooks, energy, and breathless joy” – balanced 80s synth-pop influences with the band’s classic sound. Eight (2023) demonstrated they had “found a happy space,” delivering “one melodic hook after another” with keyboard-led psychedelia, politically charged anthems, and orchestrated arrangements. Ninth album, In Spite of Everything, is released on 1st May 26. Possessing an inimitable flair for enticing melody in off-kilter sounds; dealing with interlinked themes such as searing self-reflection, the chaos of nature, fractured friendships and judging life’s biggest decisions, the record maintains an irrepressible energy.
